Community of Christ officially organized its Ministry to Military Personnel at World Conference in April 1998
2012 Update! Please keep preparation for the 2013 USA National Conference in your prayers.
Here's what our volunteers are working to provide:
- The Peacekeepers newsletter (bi-monthly).
- Internet Web site.
- Arranging visits with military members by local church members or
priesthood.
- Contact information for nearest congregations, priesthood, or other church members to military sites.
- Prayer chains for military members.
- Database of military members for the International Church.
- Database of congregations near military bases.
- Information on retreats & other church activities near military
bases.
We've also had:
- Membership meetings at World Conference and an information booth at the 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2010 conferences.
What's hoped for in our future - with your support:
- A monthly version of the Peacekeepers newsletter
- Packets of information for pastors & congregations, near military bases, explaining how they can offer ministry to -- and receive ministry from -- military members.
- An increase in the sustaining membership of the Association.
- Possibly even help with job placement for military personnel after their discharge.
